  1. Dear Angeles,
I’m going to tell you about my town.
I live in Santander, which is a city on the coast in the north of Spain. It has a population of 200000 people and it’s the capital city of Cantabria.
It’s a beautiful city, and it’s great for walking around the bay. There are lots of hills, most of them are steep. There is full of churches and shops. There’re twice There are two areas called Puertochico and Sardinero where there are a lot of outdoor bars and restaurants, people go there when the weather is good to sit in the sun to drink and have ‘tapas’.
The weather here is very different from the south of Spain. The winter is very wet and it rains a lot. The summer is warm and it’s great for going to the mountains or the beach.
The biggest tourist attraction in Santander is probably the Magdalena Palace where the Royal Family spent their summer holidays in the second decade of th 20th century. There is a great bay and lots of tourists go on boat trips. There’s a festive week in July with fireworks, bullfighting, children’s attractions and street bars. There’s an International Festival it is in August and many people go to opera, ballet, theatre and concerts.
I think the best thing about Santander is that it is not a stressful city, it’s big enough to live unstressed.
    Greetings,
    Borja.

  2. Describe your town

I live in Santander, which is a city on the coast in the north of Spain. It has a population of 182,000 inhabitants and it’s the biggest city in Cantabria.

It’s a very beautiful city. There are a lot of churches, parks and some museums. There are three shopping centers, too. Santander is famous for Sardinero beaches and some famous buildings: The Magdalena Palace which was the summer house of Kings of Spain, and the Casino which is a beautiful building.

People usually visit Santander in summer because it is a touristic city.
The weather is very changeable. In winter, it is very cold and in summer it is very hot and sometimes it even rains. It’s unpredictable!

The most important festival in Santander is Santiago festival, in July. It’s a public holiday in Spain and people come to Santander because there are bullfights, attractions and a lot of pubs in the street. People go out all night.

I like living in Santander a lot.

    The City of Santander
I live in Santander, which is a city on the coast in the north of Spain. It is a beautiful city to live because it is quiet and there is a good climate, although it rains many days.
Santander is a touristic city in the summer because there are many beaches along the city and many bars, restaurants and shows in the squares and tree-lined avenues.
Santander hasn’t changed much in the last 10 years. Now, it has a population of 182.700but it is the same as 10 years ago. Now the transports are more important than in 2000, because the airport has many more destinations everyday. The railways is faster than 10 years ago. Now Santander is prettier than in 2000, because there are many more km for walking along the seaside.

    Greetings

    Maria.

  4. Dear Angeles,
I’m going to tell you about my town.
Santander is a beautiful city on the coast in the north of Spain. It’s the only city on the coast northern that faces south, looking at its bay. It’s the capital city of Cantabria.
It’s a nice city for walking. It’s pleasant walk around the bay in a clear and sunny day. You can see the boats crossing the bay, the towns the other side, Peña Cabarga, and further you can see the big mountains which border Cantabria.
Santander has beautiful beaches like “El Sardinero” with its two beaches separated by
Piquio Gardens. At the beginning of 20th century, nobility and bourgeoisie bathed on the first Sardinero’s beach and people were on the second.
In Santander there are a lot of churches, museums and beautiful historical building. One of them is the Magdalena Palace built in 1909 where the Royal Family spent their summer holidays. Now it is the seat of Menended Pelayo International University. It’s one of the most important tourist attractions.
The weather in summer is warm and wet but in winter rains a lot.
There’s a festival in July with fireworks on the earth and on the sea, bullfighting, street concerts…. In August there’s the International Festival, at the Festival Palace where you can see opera, ballet, theatre and concerts.
Santander is a good and quite place to live and to enjoy.
